as we welcome 2009,

here's a tribute to 2008. hold on a second, i'm going to take that back. it wasn't a fantastic year to begin with. fsv ended, which almost literally meant that the best years of my life yet ended. i lost someone i loved so much. i was called up to serve the nation. plus the economic break down, and the usual but even more fervent world events; thai government issues, terrorist attacks, israel vs palestinians etc.

and as 2009 hits, i'm setting high hopes on it. then again, hope is so fragile. but some thai girls brought it forth with such ____. i can't find the appropriate word for it.

anyway, blessings for the year ahead.

it's a wrap!

and before every 'it's a wrap', there's a 'martini'. 'martini' is a term used by filmmakers to announce to the crew and everyone else on set that they are set to go for the last take/shot of the day of shoot. it's like the last hour of your 10 hours-long workday; the last paper of your 5-papers long examination; the pre-orgasm before the orgasm itself. you get my point. well, it's the shot when the main crew on set will give their best, the not-so-main ones will start packing up, and you see actors/actresses not need for the last shot bidding their goodbyes. it's an awesome feeling, trust me, when you hear those words.

now, before every 'martini', there's a 'abby singer'. i'm too lazy to google the word, so d.i.y. the abby singer is the term used to announce the 2nd last shot of the day of shoot. right, so there would be terms for the 3rd last shot, 4th last shot etc... nope, it's only the last and the 2nd last, so it's not that mock-able. well, personally i love the abby singer. i adore the words abby singer. it's the 2nd last hour of your 10-hours long workday-the time you start texting your friends to plan dates; the 2nd last paper of your 5-papers long examination-knowing that you already know the last paper's subject is already at your fingertips; the climax of your awesome sex period, knowing it's going to end in 10 seconds. well, you get my point.

anyway, i thought the shoot went pretty well. and thanks to ochre pictures, we only spent 40 bucks! HAH! it was quite fun actually to shoot in town in the midst of the pre-xmas chaos. there were hell loads of people on the streets, but it only served our cause further. and foremost thanks to benjamin's parents who gave their time and effort to help us in our shoot. not forgetting kind augustine and shimei who helped us out as well.

it's a wrap. and merry christmas everyone. cheers to the new year.

christmas shoot

benjamin tanaka and myself have planned to shoot a short film next week amidst all the christmas havoc in town. i have a pretty assuring feeling about this shoot, and i really hope this one will be of film festival quality.

happy 21st deborah

anyway, vanessa choo you're still the one who can always put a smile across my face allllll the time.

hmm..

i am quite speechless. is there really a need to?

why?

i felt it's about time in my life that i keep a diary sort. somethings, worthy or not, ought to be penned into the inks of history, to be read and re-read for whatsoever purposes that might be called for. thus...
